1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the GLERA Reporter App, Booming Fundraiser App, or any services provided by the Greater Lombardy East Residents Association ("GLERA", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Eligibility

Our apps are intended for residents of Greater Lombardy East, Rembrandt Park, and surrounding areas. You must be at least 18 years of age to register. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide, including your municipal account statement, is accurate and belongs to you.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. GLERA reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or provide false information during verification.

4. GLERA Reporter App

The Reporter App allows verified residents to submit reports of potholes and street light faults. By submitting a report you confirm that:

  • The report is accurate and relates to a genuine community issue.
  • Photos submitted are taken by you and do not infringe on any third-party rights.
  • You will not submit false, misleading, or malicious reports.

GLERA does not guarantee resolution timelines as these depend on municipal and third-party service providers.

5. Booming Fundraiser App

The Booming Fundraiser App facilitates voluntary financial contributions toward GLERA community security initiatives. Contributions are processed securely via PayFast. By making a contribution you acknowledge that:

  • Contributions are voluntary donations to GLERA community initiatives.
  • Funds are used exclusively for security infrastructure including road closures, boom gates, security personnel, and camera surveillance.
  • GLERA will provide reasonable transparency on fund utilisation.

6. Privacy & Data

We collect personal information including your name, email address, home address, and municipal account details solely for the purpose of verifying residency and providing our services. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties except as required to operate our services (e.g. payment processing via PayFast). Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and materials on the GLERA platform are the property of the Greater Lombardy East Residents Association. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without prior written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

GLERA provides its apps and services on an "as is" basis. We make no warranties regarding uptime, accuracy, or completeness of information. To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, GLERA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

10. Changes to Terms

GLERA reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
