Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. Overview

This policy applies to all financial contributions made through the GLERA Booming Fundraiser App. Contributions are voluntary donations to the Greater Lombardy East Residents Association ("GLERA") for community security initiatives. Please read this policy carefully before making a contribution.

2. Once-Off Contributions

Once-off contributions are processed immediately and are generally non-refundable as funds are allocated directly to community security infrastructure. However, if a contribution was made in error (e.g. duplicate payment or incorrect amount), please contact us within 7 days of the transaction at community@glera.co.za and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis.

3. Monthly Subscriptions

If you have set up a recurring monthly contribution, you may cancel your subscription at any time through the Booming Fundraiser App under your account settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. No further charges will be made after cancellation is confirmed.

Payments already processed for the current billing period are non-refundable.

4. Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate payments made due to a technical error.
  • Unauthorised transactions — please report these immediately.
  • Payments made after a cancellation request was confirmed.

Refunds will not be issued for contributions made voluntarily where the donor has simply changed their mind.

5. Refund Process

To request a refund, email community@glera.co.za with the following information:

  • Your full name and registered email address.
  • The date and amount of the transaction.
  • The reason for your refund request.

We will respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed via the original payment method through PayFast and may take 5–10 business days to reflect.

6. Booming Contributor Reward

The Booming Contributor wall sign reward is earned upon reaching R2,500 in cumulative contributions. If a refund is issued that reduces your total contributions below this threshold, the reward eligibility will be reviewed and may be revoked.

7. Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely by PayFast. GLERA does not store your card or banking details. For payment disputes, you may also contact PayFast directly at www.payfast.co.za.
